HYPNOSIS

A thousand Times I’ve seen her

And never really recognized

But from one day to another

She really made me hypnotized

I think it was her way of life

She lives so fast she can’t be caught

She’s got the power she’s got the drive

lovin‘ her is the greatest fault

I remember the first time I met her

Alone in the dark with a drink

With a candle flame burning next to her

And her thoughts closed in

She was staring into the distance

Not seeming to hear what I said

Why did she put up such resistance

Like all the lights were red

The very last I saw her

She had given up the chase moved away to California

With an empty smile on her face

Now I’ll go collecting the days the nights we spend together

And putting the moments away when times were so much better
